With so many trim options available across the many vehicles released each year, it can't be easy to decide. The 2024 Acura MDX has four trims, with the 2024 Acura MDX Platinum Elite being the third one on offer. As the second-highest trim tier, plenty of features and comforts make it stand out from the base Tech model.

 

Pricing

 

The base MDX trim, the MDX Tech, starts at $67,909* and offers plenty of features for its price. With two trim options ahead, the Platinum Elite starts at $74,409*, offering several additional features and comforts for its price difference of almost $7,000*.

 

Performance

 

The MDX Tech through to the MDX Platinum Elite features a powerful 290 horsepower engine with 267 lb-ft of torque. This engine is the 3.5-litre, Direct Injection SOHC, i-VTEC V6, which packs a powerful punch and offers plenty of capability for the SUV. 

 

Both trims boast a city fuel economy of 12.6 L/100 km and 9.4 L/100 km on the highway. A 70-litre fuel tank gives the SUV plenty of range. 

 

Interior Comfort and Features

 

The Platinum Elite boasts a 16-way power adjustable seat, including four-way power lumbar support for the driver and front passenger. This seat offers four more adjustable ways than the Tech trim. 

 

A genuine wood trim offers a luxury feeling in the cabin. Perforated leather-trimmed seating with contrast stitching and seat piping further accentuates the cabin's interior design. Front seating for the Platinum Elite comes ventilated, a feature not standard on the base trim.

 

Technology and Connectivity

 

The Platinum Elite features an upgraded ELS Studio 3D premium audio system with AM, FM, and SiriusXM. The system also features Windows Media audio capability and comes equipped with 16 speakers, which includes a subwoofer. USB ports are featured on the first and second rows across all trims but start being standard on the third row from this trim and its higher tier.

 

The Platinum Elite is the first trim in the lineup to offer a colour head-up display (HUD), giving the driver quick access to vital information without distraction. Upgraded from the Tech's multi-angle rearview camera is a standard surround-view camera system for enhanced visibility.

 

Exterior Design and Function

 

One additional feature on the SUV's exterior is LED fog lights, giving you greater visibility in the dark when needed. Side roof rails are another addition and make it easier to carry cargo on the vehicle's roof, expanding your space without complicating things.
